Leaving off at te mouse at lunch....
We then got taken to another location where we were totally sandbagged. We got to see some embrodierings and jewerly....to purchase. Yeah, it was a total set up, and we didn't buy anything.
We then headed back to Delhi. The drive back was long and we were all tired. Sandra almost entered into an arranged marriage with our driver, even though he is married and has 3 children. One strange thing that happened on the way home. There was an accident on the highway. Cars actually turned around and drove backwards on the highway, then turned into the oncoming traffic lane, and proceeded to drive several miles on the wrong side of the highway until we had passed the accident.
Once back in Delhi we enjoyed some time in the hotel bar, talked to the kids via webcam, and got some sleep.
Today we woke, had a wonderful breakfast in the hotel and then headed out for a few hours. We saw the Presidents House (WAY WAY nicer then the White House), Parliment, Embassy's, Government Buildings, The India Gate, and Raj Ghat (where Ghandi took his last steps and died).
After that we headed to the airport to fly to Bangalore. Thankfully the concierge from the hotel decided to accompany us. Turns out that security is so high at the Delhi airport that you absolutly must have a boarding pass or full print out of each person's itenarary. We had neither. So, our most wonderful guy was able to work with the airline to get our proper papers. In the mean time Matt and I sat in the car, which was made to move, then we got yelled at etc. I started getting really freaked out. Finally our guy came out and we went in the airport. Now, it also turns out that Kingfisher airline only allows a certain weight for your checked baggage, we ended up being $28 pounds over and would have had to pay $50 to bring the additional weight. Our guy negotiated and got us it for free!!! Then we went through security, which was very thourough. And, Matt happens to carry A LOT of computer wires in his bag, they did question that. The process of boarding was interesting. Everyone goes downstairs to a line at 20 minutes prior to departure EXACTLY. You go through security again, then board a bus that drives you to your plane. You walk up the stairs to the plane. Our flight was OK, we had a nice snack of samosas and lentils.
Then we arrived in Bangalore. The new airport is very nice. It is about 1 hour form the hotel. My driver for the week picked us up. Turns out, he doesn't speak a whole lot of english, so that is going to be interesting.
Our hotel is amazing. The suite is beautiful, the gardens, lounges, etc. all amazing. I am checking out the spa book now. Going to the office tomorrow and looking forward to meeting everyone!
